The Moose in Algonquin Park

We came within almost paddle reach

An old, strong Moose...in rut..
so you had better be careful.

What can I tell you....
Our hearts beat in our throats.

This time of the year it is best to be careful.
It is "rutting-season" and the bulls do not like to be bothered.
They have a one track mind: "I love that cow"!!!
and I want these people in their stupid canoe to leave.

The greatest disappointment:
The Whale "breached"...meaning she rose from the water,
her whole body arching in the air. With a mighty splash
she came back down.
I WAS TOO SLOW;
ALL I CAN SHOW YOU IS THE SPLASH.
PITTY.!!!

until October, when they move south

The small (45 foot) boat which took us out
into the Atlantic Ocean
so that we might watch whales, which were longer than the boat.

Today, as in days gone by, the men and women
of this village
make their living through fishing.
Today, however, they have added
"Tourism" as a source of income.

There are, by latest count, exactly 35 year round
inhabitants in this picturesque village.

Christin saw this black cowboy hat for sale.
She absolutely had to have it and have her picture taken
with the attendant.

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. CANADA.

This is surely one of the prettiest and most interesting cities of Canada. It is said that it is "the most European City" of Canada. While we visited this lovely place there was a slight drizzle now and then. The rest of the time it was just cloudy. Somehow this did not really dampen our enthusiasm for Q.C. I can only show you a very few of the many pictures I took. I hope that they give you an idea of this place.

On the day of our visit, preparation for
the World Cup bycicle race were under way.
The white tent in front of the Chareau Frontenace
was erected as a bycicle repair shop.
